All classes are in Dutch and English
Classes are a beautiful blend of breath awareness and intention, that flows into meditation, Mantra and physical forms.
The effect of the class brings about a state of balance physically and mentally.
Ending with Yoga Nidra, or Yogic sleep, this harmony is taken to a deeper level.
Classes are adapted to the students present, their needs at that time and the season.
The Yoga classes are an all embracing fabric interwoven from different traditions:
Anusara, Iyengar, Restorative, Ayurveda, Svastha, Mantra, Meditation,
Tantra, Experiential Anatomy, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yoga Nidra.
This creates a practice that is intelligent, diverse and adresses all aspects of being,
while maintaining a space where every body is safe and every mind welcome.

Every step is a step closer to our true nature and the first steps start right here in this body.
Yoga is the Sanskrit word for union, to become one with our true nature and all that is. It is the science of the soul.
Yoga is the journey and the path's end. It is the steps we take to arrive at deeper understanding and awareness and at the same time it is the awareness, or Sakshi, the eternal witness. It is the inner journey that reveals the beauty and power that lies within all existence.
But as most of us live and experience life externally our journey is in the outer world. To make the path easier the ancient sages developed the Yoga system so that each action, word and thought can become a way, a path to the inner journey.
Raja Yoga uses eight precise and clear steps to help us all on our way, called Ashtanga, literally the eight limbs:
Yamas- the habits we should cultivate to create a harmonious sense of being to the external experience; our behaviour toward all others.
Niyamas- the habits we can cultivate to create a harmonious sense of being to the internal experience; our behaviour to our own self and truth.
Asana- the physical exercises that create a healthy physical body, strong and flexible to allow the vital body to become engaged and act as the bridge between body and mind.
Pranayama- the breathing exercises that create a strong and healthy energy body, or Pranic body, and creates a calm yet alert mind.
Pratyahara- the practice of withdrawing the senses from the outside world to the inner experience of being and living.
Dharana- the concentration exercises that make the mind one pointed, focused and able to perceive clearly and each time more deeply.
Dhyana- the meditation or extended concentration upon the object of meditation, true experience without any conditioning.
Samadhi- the experience of oneness with whatever the mind is absorbed in, no mind only being.
(This is a different system from the Ashtanga most westerners understand, coming from the Pattabhi Jois tradition. )
As we can see Asana, the physical exercises that most people in the world think of as Yoga is only the 3rd limb. One of the preliminary steps to meditation and of the actually journey. But each limb has its purpose and as we are all so 'in-body-ed' at this moment in time, Asana is a wonderful tool to begin the path back to our true Self. For this reason Hatha Yoga was designed. It comes from the Tantric tradition which uses all practices as scientific techniques to get the most specific and direct desired effect for the individual or era.
Ha Tha Yoga means Sun and Moon Yoga, and the union of these two opposing forces within. Merging and balancing the solar, active, vital and heating force with lunar, passive, reflective and cooling principle within us. Through effort, using both Asana and Praynayama, we can create this balance between these two principles. Most of us are active and solar in the mind but our bodies are dull and passive. With the practice of Asana and Pranayama we turn these two energies around so that the mind is calm and reflective as the Moon and the body is active and vital like the Sun. Then we get a sense of true peace and vitality.
Our body communicates with us constantly asking us to stop, look, listen and learn. The body is a guide and Yoga becomes a tool that over time and through effort reveals how we can work in unison with the body's inherent intelligence. This working harmoniously in one area of being will also reveal how we can affect other areas of our life and living. Once we become more conscious physically we can start to clear the mind and subtle bodies too, make more conscious choices and life changing actions. Each step becomes more sure, each decision more precise and each thought takes us closer to our purpose, our joy and gift to the universe.
For the love to guide others forward on the path, where ever we might be on our path, a teachers aim should be to educate through reflecting that which the student already knows deep within. Self practice ultimately is the greatest teacher. But first we must learn the tools, how to use them, when, why and why not from a seasoned practitioner and teacher. By the teacher sharing the tools and understanding each student has the possibility to create their own home practice, so that each one becomes his or her own master on the path. They in turn become their own teacher.
Empowering each individual through education is the message of the ancient sages, the Rishis.
